Itinerary

1

Day 1

Ayubowan! We will be waiting at the airport to warmly welcome you to Sri Lanka with beautiful orchid garlands. From there, we will take you directly to your hotel in the coastal town of Negombo. It is the perfect spot to recover from your flight, enjoy the local atmosphere, and prepare for the exciting days ahead. Overnight stay at a hotel in Negombo.

Day 2

After a great breakfast, we travel to Dambulla. Along the way, we will stop to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a well-known sanctuary and nursery providing care for wild Asian elephants. Later in the afternoon, we head to Minneriya National Park for a jeep safari. This park is famous for large gatherings of wild elephants, giving you an incredible opportunity to see them up close in their natural habitat. Overnight stay at a hotel in Dambulla or Sigiriya.

Day 3

We spend today exploring the Anuradhapura ancient city. This historical marvel includes the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree, the massive Ruwanweliseya stupa, the Jethawanaramaya, the Kuttam Pokuna (twin ponds), and the Abayagiri monastery and stupa. Following the city tour, we head to Wilpattu National Park for a wildlife safari through its unique landscape of natural lakes, where you might spot leopards and sloth bears. Overnight stay at a hotel in Dambulla or Sigiriya.

Day 4

We start the day by climbing the impressive Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an ancient palace and fortress complex built on a massive column of rock, famously known as the Lion Rock. Next, we visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. We then travel towards Kandy, stopping at a Ceylon Spicy Garden on the way. In the evening, you will enjoy a traditional Kandy Cultural Show. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kandy.

Day 5

Early in the morning, we visit Udawatta Kele for a peaceful bird-watching session before returning to the hotel for breakfast. We then visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. This is a world-renowned place of worship, where the left canine tooth of Gautama Buddha is enshrined. We will also explore a local Gem Museum and Wood Carving center, walk through the beautiful Peradeniya Botanical Garden—home to thousands of plant species including a renowned collection of orchids—and travel to Nuwara Eliya (often called Little England). Along the way, we stop to see the Ramboda Waterfall and visit a working Tea Factory and Tea Plantation. Overnight stay at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 6

We begin with an early morning visit to Horton Plains National Park, a protected highland plateau famous for its rich biodiversity and the sheer drop known as World’s End (with an optional visit to Moon Plains). You can also choose to visit a local Strawberry Farm. Enjoy some relaxing time around Gregory Lake and explore the charming city of Nuwara Eliya before we head down to the mountain town of Ella. We finish the day with a lovely dinner at a restaurant in Ella town. Overnight stay at a hotel in Ella.

Day 7

Today is filled with activity as we visit the Flying Ravana Adventure Park and take a scenic hike to Little Adam’s Peak, a relatively easy trail offering spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. We will see the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, a stunning viaduct bridge built entirely out of brick, rock, and cement without any steel, and the beautiful Ravana Waterfall before making our way to Yala. Overnight stay at a hotel in Yala or Thissamaharama.

Day 8

Get ready for a full-day jeep safari at Yala National Park, the most visited national park in Sri Lanka. We will spend the day searching for the park’s exclusive leopards, elephants, and a wide variety of birds and other wildlife in their natural environment. Overnight stay at a hotel in Yala or Thissamaharama.

Day 9

We begin with early morning bird watching at the Kalamatiya Bird Sanctuary or Hambantota Bird Park. We then visit the Snake Farm in Weligama. The afternoon is spent snorkeling with sea turtles in Mirissa. We will take in the views at Coconut Hill and climb Parrot Rock for a beautiful view of the sunset. Overnight stay at a hotel in Galle.

Day 10

Enjoy a full-day visit to the Sinharaja Rain Forest. This incredible biodiversity hotspot is a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with unique endemic plants, birds, and animals, offering a truly immersive nature walk. Overnight stay at a hotel in Galle.

Day 11

We explore the historic Galle Fort, a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site showcasing a mix of European architectural styles and South Asian traditions with its charming cobblestone streets. Then we go on a relaxing Madu River Boat Safari. Experience a fun fish therapy session, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery to see their conservation efforts, and spend a relaxing evening at Bentota beach. Overnight stay at a hotel in Bentota.

Day 12

We head to Colombo today. If time permits, we will take you on a Colombo City Tour to see the capital before assisting you with your departure at the airport.
