After breakfast, we head to Dambulla. On the way, we stop to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can watch the gentle giants bathe and interact. In the afternoon, we head out for a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park, a fantastic place to see wild elephants gathering near the water. Overnight stay at a hotel in Dambulla or Sigiriya.

You have the choice to explore either the Polonnaruwa ancient city or the Anuradhapura ancient city. If you choose Polonnaruwa, you will see the Royal palace of King Parakramabahu, the sacred quadrangle, Gal Viharaya, Rankoth Vehera, and Kiri Vehera. If you choose Anuradhapura, you will see the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanweliseya stupa, Jethawanaramaya, Kuttam Pokuna, and Abayagiri monastery and stupa. We start the day by climbing the impressive Sigiriya Rock Fortress, ascending this ancient kingdom’s ruins which rise nearly 200 meters above the surrounding jungle. We then visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. This ancient temple complex features beautiful statues and detailed murals painted directly onto the cave walls. As we head to Kandy, we will visit a Ceylon Spicy Garden and the colorful Matale Muthumariamman Hindu Temple. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kandy.

We visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. This deeply venerated Buddhist temple holds the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. We will take in the views from the Kandy View Point, walk around Kandy Lake, explore the Gem Museum and Wood Carving center, and stroll through the Peradeniya Botanical Garden, a sprawling garden that was once reserved exclusively for Kandyan royalty. Our journey continues with visits to the Nelligala Temple and the Three Temples of the Loop. We admire the Ramboda Waterfall, visit a working Tea Factory and Plantation, and spend time at Gregory Lake. We head out for an early morning visit to Horton Plains National Park, a sweeping highland landscape of rolling plains and cloud forests. We will also visit the New Zealand Farm and a local Strawberry Farm. Overnight stay at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Experience a beautiful train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella. In Ella, we will visit the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, one of the most picturesque railway bridges in the country. We will also take a short, beautiful hike to Little Adam’s Peak to enjoy sweeping views of the lush green mountains, and see the Ravana Waterfall. The day ends with dinner at a lovely restaurant in Ella town. Overnight stay at a hotel in Ella.

We visit the Flying Ravana Adventure Park for some excitement before heading to Yala. Once there, we go on a Yala National Park Jeep Safari to spot the park’s famous wildlife, including leopards, sloth bears, and crocodiles. Overnight stay at a hotel in Yala or Thissamaharama.

We begin with morning bird watching at Kalamatiya Bird Sanctuary or Hambantota Bird Park. This is followed by snorkeling with sea turtles in Mirissa. We will visit Coconut Hill and Parrot Rock before arriving at our hotel. Overnight stay at a hotel in Mirissa.

Today we explore the historic Galle Fort, a charming walled city originally built by the Portuguese and heavily fortified by the Dutch, full of boutiques and cafes. We then go on a Madu River Boat Safari. We will experience fish therapy, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, and stop by the Moonstones Mines. Overnight stay at a hotel in Bentota.

Enjoy a completely relaxing day at Bentota Beach. You can try out exciting water sports like jet skiing, banana boat rides, windsurfing, wakeboarding, and scuba diving, or simply swim and sunbathe on the beach. Overnight stay at a hotel in Bentota.
